Dishwasher

SUMMARY:

This is a non-exempt position that is responsible for cleaning of the dishes, carts and tray delivery carts. The Dishwasher is also responsible for the removal of recycle materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Cleans all dishes, carts and tray delivery carts after each meal.

2. Completes all items on task list on a daily basis.

3. Reports and communicates damaged equipment/supplies to the Dining Services Manager.

4. Transports tray carts to floors and to kitchen in accordance with established procedures.

5. Assists in the general cleaning of the kitchen and providing a safe, clean and organized environment.

6. Removes all trash and empties trash cans in proper containers.

7. Assists in the cleaning, sweeping and mopping of the dining room floor and/or kitchen floor as assigned.

8. Assists in filling all juice and milk machines as assigned.

9. Performs responsibilities in accordance with all established procedures and healthcare regulations.

10. Assists with tray service during meal times.

11. May assist with tray line as needed.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists the Dining Services Manager with various other tasks as needed.

2. Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but that may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.

3. Participates in all training and continuing education to upgrade skills.

4. Creates a cooperative team effort among the staff and covers for staff during vacations and at other times when needed. Acts as a team player at all times

5. All other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager.

3. Ability to communicate effectively with Sisters and other staff members.

4. Ability to deal tactfully with Resident Sisters, staff members, family members, friends and the general public.

5. Consistently demonstrates integrity, positive attitude and respect for others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Must have moderate writing, reading, grammar and mathematical skills.

3. Prior experience working in a food service capacity highly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and heavy lifting. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

2. The employee may be required to work extended periods of time and will be scheduled based on operational need.

3. The employee may be exposed to infectious diseases, substances and contaminated materials.

4. The employee may experience extremes in temperature while carrying out the duties of the job.

5. The employee will be exposed to sharp instruments and dangerous appliances.
