CURRENT POSITION: I am CEO and President of Purcell Construction and President of its sister company, Reamstown Excavating, a commercial site and concrete contractor. Purcell Construction is a fourth generation building contractor and developer specializing in retirement, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and retail projects. We are a State and federally certified Woman Business Enterprise.
CAMILLA/IHM CONNECTION: Purcell Construction was asked to complete an extensive renovation project at Immaculata University. At the time I was living in California, but my father asked me to come home to join the family business and manage the project at Immaculata. I had the pleasure of working with several of the sisters, including Sr. Carroll Isselmann.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS:
I am an avid gardener on my property which has become known as the local jungle. I also like to consider myself an adventurous gourmet cook when my schedule allows.
I have a very close-knit family – particularly so because I work with my father! Rather wisely, my sister has stayed far away from the family business, as has my mother. I am also Super Aunt to two amazing nephews.
FAVORITE VACATION SPOTS:
After spending my college and grad school years travelling throughout East Asia, followed by years commuting between PA and CA, I am happy to stick closer to home these days. I am particularly fond of Cape May and try to get there throughout the year, although I have been spending a lot of time in the Nokomis / Venice area of Florida where my parents have a vacation home. Any place with nice beaches and warm water is fine by me.
FUN FACT(S) ABOUT YOURSELF:
I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese, and went to grad school in mainland China where I studied Chinese Economic Law. As an undergraduate, I took some time off from Penn State to study Art History in Taiwan.
